{"id":4375,"date":"2018-06-06T10:28:11","date_gmt":"2018-06-06T10:28:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cupprintdev.wpenginepowered.com\/cupprint-joins-forces-with-huhtamaki\/"},"modified":"2025-10-17T07:51:55","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:51:55","slug":"cupprint-joins-forces-with-huhtamaki","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cupprintdev.wpenginepowered.com\/ie\/cupprint-joins-forces-with-huhtamaki\/","title":{"rendered":"Cup Print joins forces with Huhtamaki"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2898 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/cupprintdev.wpenginepowered.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Huhtamaki-logo-1-300x50.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"50\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>NEWS RELEASE \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>June 4th 2018<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Global food and drink packaging specialist Huhtamaki has acquired 70% of CupPrint, Europe\u2019s leading manufacturer of customer made printed cups in short runs.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The investment will enable CupPrint to grow and develop its business across European markets and accelerate it into new segments.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The 22 million euro acquisition of this innovative Irish manufacturing company will allow Huhtamaki to add capability for short run, fast turnaround bespoke paper cups, which are ideal for the independent sector.<\/p>\n<p>CupPrint\u2019s existing management retains 30% of the business and will continue to lead the company Terry Fox, CEO and founder of CupPrint remains as General Manager.\u00a0 Terry said \u201cThis joint venture with Huhtamaki gives Cupprint the opportunity to accelerate its unique business model into more international markets and non-core segments.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Huhtamaki believes the move will enable it to better serve the needs of a new type of clientele, such as independent coffee and ice cream shops, which need lower volumes and fast deliveries. As importantly, the acquired short run capabilities also improve the company\u2019s promotional offering to current customers.<\/p>\n<p>Philippe Ferrand, Managing Director of Huhtamaki Foodservice Southern Europe &amp; UK region commented: \u201cBy combining the two companies\u2019 strengths we can serve our customers even better: CupPrint offers reduced lead times and agility, while Huhtamaki brings its global footprint and financial strength to the partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition brings no changes as of now for contracts or contact persons at Huhtamaki or CupPrint.
